His Mansion Mentoring Program

One-Year Mentor and Servant Leader Training

The Mentor and Servant Leader program usually involves men and women, age 18-40, who volunteer to be part of a life-changing process. It builds on the extended version of the HCC course and runs for six-to-12 months of in-depth, on-the-job experience. The first six months is spent in Servant Leader (SL) training. Participants learn to work in the community environment at His Mansion. After successful completion of the SL training, graduates may serve as Mentors to our residents.

(Some people come to His Mansion who are already equipped with the skills and experience necessary to serve as Mentors. If you think you qualify in this regard, please call and ask for more details.)

His Mansion ministers to Fourth World Citizens: men and women who see themselves as broken, lost and outside the mainstream. They often feel unlovable, unwanted, unworthy, unneeded and unacceptable. They typically cannot maintain a love relationship, hold down a job or continue in school. They often indulge in unhealthy sexual activities, substance abuse or other dangerous dependencies to numb the pain.

The Servant Leader Trainee/Mentor role is to model and facilitate what God can do in a committed life. They are not expected to be the answer-persons, to be super-spiritual, or to be miles ahead of their peers. The role of His Mansion in the process is to coach, encourage and cultivate the Mentor’s spiritual growth and maturity during this exciting time.

A year may seem like a long time, but the dysfunctional behavior that handicaps our residents requires long-term treatment. Mentors become the specially-trained brothers and sisters who both model the Spirit-filled Christian life and coach residents in becoming stable individuals.

The application process is vital, so print out the Mentor/Servant Leader application and mail it in, or fill it out online. Please call 603-464-5555 if you have any questions. Applications are accepted any time and arrangements can be made to fit you into the training process throughout the year. You may have to forego the benefit of the HCC course until the next class, depending on your acceptance date.

There are no charges or fees for this one-year training. We do not pay salaries or provide health benefits for those who serve in this capacity. We do offer a $100 per month stipend to help offset living expenses. An additional $100 per month is available to help with student loans determined on a case-by-case basis. Personal vehicles are permitted but not necessary. We can pick you up from the Manchester Airport or the Concord bus terminal.
